Forrest Paint Company was established in 1973 in Eugene, Oregon USA. Forrest paint are a heat resistant paint manufacturer and make a wide variety of heat resistant paints and other industrial paints and coatings.
They have a research and devlopment team that includes 3 cheamists: specialists in powder, water base, solvent base, and UV cure chemistries.
Forrest paint have voluntarily been carrying out a programme of safety and environmental improvements at their plants. In the last 20 years they have eliminated most of the chemicals which are often assumed to be in paint which cause the most environmental and health problems. Forrest paint have not used lead, chromium, mercury, chlorofluorocarbons, or methylene chloride for over 15 years.
They have reduced the volume of thinners they use in the paint by 71% over the last 20 years. It is these thinners that increase the VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) content of a paint. They have invested over $1.25 million in the last 3 years to implement alternative technologies to further reduce emissions.
