The middle sized Country Franklin stove - will give you the full kilowatt output when used with the doors shut -the kilowatt output will be halved when you open the doors giving you the full view of the fire. A lot of clients like this - as it gives you a huge output range - you will never get too hot in front of your wood burnerbut if you are next door you can shut the doors for safety & convenience and also get the added benefit of a higher output. Please check the measurements of your stove very well - as there have been a lot of reproductions of this stove and the spares from a traditional Country Franklin will not fit into a reproduction model. You will be able to buy spare glass for the glass panels in the Country Franklin stove. The solid door model is no longer in production - the country Franklin stove is now produced with glass doors only in the 3 sizes. It is a multi fuel stove & will have a grate & ash pan - you can therefore burn wood & coal as you please. When burning wood - you can let the ashes built up in the ash pan underneath - as the wood burns well on a bed of ashes.
